As Football Manager players, we all want to be the one to find the next big thing. Last season we saw the likes of Mason Greenwood, Erling Håland and Eduardo Camavinga burst onto the scene. These youngsters are all set to do the same. A lot of players will know of these teenage stars already, but for those who don’t, here are 10 Wonderkids ready to have their breakthrough in the upcoming 2020/21 season who could be the perfect signing for your FM21 save.
10) Troy Parrott
Coming in at number 10 is Spurs striker Troy Parrott. Dubbed as Ireland’s ‘next Robbie Keane’, the 18 year old has huge shoes to fill. However, he definitely has the talent to do it, and I think this will be the season he really shows it. Joining Millwall on a season-long loan spell, he has the perfect opportunity to shine in the Championship. He would be a great signing for your FM21 save and will definitely guarantee goals!
9) Xavi Simons
Xavi Simons is definitely one of the best young talents in Europe right now. PSG (as they always do), signed the 17 year old Dutch midfielder from Barcelona’s La Masia, and I think he’s ready to show what all the hype is about. I’m sure many Football Manager players regularly add him to their squad, but for those of you who haven’t… you probably should!
8) Harvey Elliott
Harvey Elliott is a class act. After becoming the youngest player in Premier League history for Fulham, in May 2019, Liverpool snapped him up. The 17 year old winger is skilful and versatile, and he has the potential to be a future England star. Maybe not a player signed very often by Football Manager players, but he could be a great addition to your save and a fun player to experiment with.
7) Billy Gilmour
Some people may say Billy Gilmour has already made his breakthrough, but I disagree with that. The 19 year old Scotsman was man of the match in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Liverpool in an FA Cup tie last season, but I still think there’s more to come from the Rangers’ Academy product, who reportedly studied Xavi and Iniesta and based his game on their styles. Being able to play anywhere in midfield, I can see him flourishing under Frank Lampard’s guidance (even with Chelsea’s new big money signings). He could be a great signing for your team that’s in need of quality in the centre of the pitch.
6) Sebastiano Esposito
Sebastiano Esposito is already a top player (scoring 14 goals last season for Inter Milan), and he’s only going to get better. At 18 years old, the Italian striker is one of Europe’s hottest prospects, and will surely have another impressive season under Antonio Conte. This guy is a no-brainer to sign for your team, he’s young and he will score A LOT of goals – what more could you want?
5) Naci Unuvar
Another player, constantly signed by FM players, Naci Unuvar is quality. The 17 year old forward currently plays for Ajax, and I think we’ll see more of him in the senior team this year. An easy choice to sign, he will provide your team with goals and assists from a young age, and will improve so much as he gets older.
4) Rayan Cherki
Like Unuvar, Rayan Cherki is a player constantly signed on Football Manager. The Lyon forward played a handful of games for the senior team last year, and will surely get much more game time this season. With the potential to be one of the best players in the world in several years time, Cherki is an obvious addition to your FM21 squad.
3) Ryan Gravenberch
Another Ajax academy player (no surprise), Ryan Gravenberch is already a top player. It looks like the Dutch midfielder will be a regular in Ajax’s first team this season, and he’s definitely good enough! The 18 year old got a decent amount of game time last season, and will surely get a lot more this year. The rising star would be a fantastic signing for your team, and it won’t take him long to be a regular in it.
2) Pedri
A pretty obvious one in second here, Pedri is one of Europe’s most coveted talents. The Spaniard scored 4 times and assisted 7 on loan at Las Palmas last season – despite only being 17. If any of Barcelona’s young stars will manage to break into the first team, it will surely be him. With so much potential and exciting attributes, Pedri will be a top signing for your FM21 save.
1) Reinier
Coming in at number 1, we have Real Madrid starlet, Reinier Jesus. The 18 year old Brazilian attacking midfielder is tipped to be at the top of Europe in the coming years. He has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan this season, teaming up with some of Europe’s best young talents such as Jadon Sancho, Erling Håland and Jude Bellingham. This is surely the year we will see what the exciting young man can do! Yet again, a really obvious but good signing on Football Manager or even starting a Dortmund save could be very interesting!
