The immediate downside to Mason Greenwood on Football Manager is that he already plays for one of the biggest clubs in the world. So he’ll cost. A lot. In fact, your best chance of signing Greenwood is waiting a few years, hoping he falls out of favour or you get taken over by Russian tycoons.

The upside is that he has the ratings of a top striker at the peak of their game, yet he’s only 18 and can get so much better.

How good does Mason Greenwood become on FM21?

The answer, quite frankly, is remarkably good. The definition of a devastating finisher. In this example, Greenwood stuck with United and his value rose to £82M. He also had 24 in 50 for England.

United, rather foolishly, chose to operate him from the right, so he was only averaging about 15 goal contributions per season. Don’t do that. He’s a striker. Play him up front.

I’ve seen a few of you have signed Greenwood and got 30-40 goals from him per season. And he’s absolutely capable of that, if you are lucky enough to get your hands on him.
